A Day in the Life… 
 
The Alumni Coordinator will create, facilitate, implement, and promote programming, initiatives, and events to engage alumni and students and continuously seek to enhance the Goodman Alumni Network (GAN) and foster growth. 
 
As the Alumni Coordinator, you will:
 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for between the Goodman School of Business and Goodman alumni;
  • Recruit new members and promote the Goodman Alumni Network to current Goodman alumni and students through student engagement activities and events;
  • Build strong relationships with Goodman alumni and students to encourage active and dedicated GAN membership;
  • Develop and execute alumni engagement strategies to increase alumni engagement through programming and events;
  • Establish a strong alumni volunteer base to aid in the formation of the GAN executive group (i.e. Chair, Vice Chair, Regional Committee Members, Ambassadors);
  • Oversee all Goodman Alumni Network Committee events and recruitment activities including recruiting for Committee roles, working closely with Committee members on event themes/topics, selecting and booking venues, organizing guest speakers, ensuring event expenses are within allotted budget, collaborating with Goodman Marketing and Communications on event promotion details (i.e. invitations, advertising, and email blasts), and conducting event debriefs to discuss successes, opportunities, and next steps;
  • Track, monitor, and provide input into the Goodman Alumni budget;
  • Liaise with the central Alumni Office to ensure that Goodman Alumni activities are aligned to Alumni Association strategic goals and objectives;
  • Seek feedback from current students and alumni to identify and develop value-add initiatives, and improve programs and events;
  • Collaborate with Goodman Recruitment and the Goodman Student Engagement Office to create programming and encourage alumni volunteering and participation in student events (i.e. keynote speaker, competition judge, BSA Board of Directors, etc.);
  • Track, record, and update alumni information, GAN membership, and alumni involvement;
  • Pull reports for class lists, event lists, and volunteer involvement;
  • Create and maintain alumni accounts;
  • Work with the Engagement Office to record all alumni involvement supporting Goodman student clubs;
  • Liaise with the Development Office to engage and apprise alumni and current students of alumni giving programs;
  • Consistently communicate with alumni to promote upcoming events, feature alumni success stories, and share Goodman updates through the Goodman Communications Office;
  • Partner with the Goodman Marketing and Communications Coordinator to provide input into the design of event invitations and featured articles;
  • Work closely with the Goodman Digital Communications Coordinator to update webpages, produce newsletters, and promote programming through social media outlets;
  • Plan and execute all alumni events, special announcements, and yearly programming;
  • Develop events for each Goodman Alumni Network based on geographical location/ committee;
  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of assigned alumni events; prepare event agenda/ outlines, organize invitations and invitation lists, hospitality, travel accommodations, event set up and seating, prepare event budgets, track and monitor expenses to budget, process payments, negotiate rental contracts, secure external vendors, and all other event related logistics;
  • Promote Goodman alumni events i.e. through mail/email promotions;
  • Coordinate participation and tasks to GAN committee members and volunteers;
  • Solicit internal and external feedback, evaluate events, and make recommendations to enhance future programming;
  • Work closely with the central Alumni Office on a variety of alumni events, including, but not limited to, Homecoming, Convocation, and Goodman Distinguished Graduate.
 
What you Need to Succeed…
 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Sociology, Psychology, or Education);
  • A valid Ontario G class driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract;
  • A minimum of two of experience with alumni relations experience, volunteer management, relationship management, and event management;
  • Knowledge of alumni trends and best practices to continuously enhance Brock’s alumni outreach efforts;
  • Ability to compose, proofread, and edit written materials;
  • Strong event planning and project management skills;
  • Ability to conduct surveys and data analysis to evaluate programming, initiatives, and events, and customize and enhance programs based on findings;
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures, best practices, confidentiality, and other legal requirements;
  • Working knowledge of social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Brock News);
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office (Word Processor, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), web applications, internet search engines, social media, and ability to adapt to custom software such as Workday, Brock DB, Raiser’s Edge alumni database, Lifesize, HopIn, and Eventbrite for alumni communications and events;
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Proven ability to develop credibility and collegiality with individuals and maintain strong relationships;
  • Strong judgement, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines.
 
Salary Information
 
Job Grade: J $47,455.00 - $63,027.00
This position includes contract benefits coverage

Student Programming Coordinator - Goodman School of Business

Reporting to the Director, Communications & Engagement, the Student Programming Coordinator works within the Communications and Engagement team of the Goodman School of Business (GSB) and is responsible for developing, implementing and assessing programs and opportunities that engage the wider Goodman School of Business student body and builds a spirit of belonging to Goodman.

Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of a broad spectrum environmental health and safety systems and initiatives, including the organization of programs and training for the prevention and management of environmental risks.
